Old McDonald's Farm

We've been going here a lot as Jack LOVES animals! So fun to watch him chase the turkeys and try to say, "gobble gobble." I have been trying to keep him as busy as possible as he seems to be the energizer bunny. It is helping a lot! A lot less cranky days and some decent 2 hour naps! Yahoo!!

My friend Tanya took some really great pictures of him while we were there. I love them! Thanks T!

I was so impressed! He got right on the pony and held on like he had done it a thousand times!

My sweet little love!

I'll get you, turkey!!

I melt..

Such a boy! Everywhere we go he immediately goes for the dirt, rocks, and mud. The next step is to rub his hands in it and then lastly, throw it. In every direction. :)

Trying to climb through the fence... Climbing is his newest adventure. Makes me very nervous!

No!!! We can't leave yet!!!

So we came back.. This time with Dad!

Still happy to get on the pony!

Nom'ing on a PB sandwich.

We are so lucky to have this place! We plan to go weekly as we both got season passes :)

Other fun... Lots of park and pool days!

Helping me water the plants... Close enough.

And a Happy 4th of July!! I forgot to be a fun mom and get him a patriotic outfit. This is the best I could do! He didn't stay up long enough to see anything... And he is pretty afraid of loud noises. Surprisingly he slept through our crazy neighborhood's display. I'm not used to the big fireworks being legal so it was crazy to see everyone have them going all night long!

And the next morning we took a long walk at a local park. It is so beautiful here. I wish we never had to leave!

Picture doesn't do it justice, but it's a local garden clubs space. Such pretty flowers!

... This last one to make Kyle mad. He didn't appreciate the pony tail and told me I was going to give J a headache. :P

More later!

Random summer happenings.

We recently tried to get jack his first hair cut.. It ended up with him screaming so hard we had to leave. I was left to try to salvage the damage at home, myself.

Pic shows you before and after :)

We have finally had some nice warm weather! But also some rainy windy days... We enjoy either, so long as we are together!

Enjoying popcorn and my two loves!

I'm sad that that last group of pictures all came from my phone (excuse the poor quality). Jack loved Storybook again this year! Can't wait to go again soon. It's the best place for kids as they can literally get into everything (j's favorite thing to do!). The last picture makes me happy and sad! He was so tiny, now so big!

Jack still eats like a grown man! Random to throw this into the mix, but I want everyone to see how much he chows down!!! We literally had to up our food budget :) grow jacky j, grow!!

While he isn't stuffing his face, we spend a lot of time outside! We can't even say the word "outside," without him freaking out if he doesn't immediately get to go. I've been taking him for long walks in the moby wrap. Good work out for me, and forced cuddle time for him. Bahahah!

Don't let his face fool you. That's his "observer" look. He takes in EVERYTHING! And calls every animal we see along our path "dog." ;) love him!

....And more recently...  We went to the pool!

I'm probably going to have to buy a season pass here. He LOVED it! Great way to cool off and burn some energy. You can make fun of his giant hat and long sleeved shirt... I don't know if you've noticed but he is as fair as I am. ;) we burn easy around here!

That's all for now!! Trying to cram this all in before I forget another day. :)

Projects and more projects!

It's been a busy couple months since Kyle has been home!

We reno'd the kitchen, put sprinklers in the backyard, built a brick patio, and laid sod!!! All that is left in the backyard are the trees and plants. It is so nice to finally have it finished so that we can enjoy!

We have been enjoying our patio furniture! It's a great relaxing place to hang out after jack goes to bed! I'm so lucky to have a hard working husband that is a project-finisher! He did such an amazing job. Thanks honey!

13 months!!

Our boy is learning so much this past month! It amazes me how quickly he is starting to catch onto things. We are working on sign language (Jack still has no real words yet..) So far he is using "please, more, wash" regularly. Today he tried to put on his own shoes, and yesterday he took the watering pail and marched it over to the faucet and then walked back to my flowers as if he were going to water them. (Mind BLOWN!)

He still eats everything and anything in site. We haven't given him anything that he really refuses- yay for a good eater! However, he absolutely hates milk of any kind. I've tried EVERYTHING. Whole, lactose free, almond, soy, coconut... Nothing. He gets lots of yogurt and cheese and green veggies to make up for it.

Love him to pieces, he is my joy!

The big ONE!

We celebrated Jack's first birthday on Sunday. I sound like a broken record all the time with the, "I can't believe he is really this old" stuff. BUT I JUST CAN'T!!!  Having him in our life makes everything so much better. We love being parents to our crazy baby.

Taco bar... or supposed to be a Taco Bar!

I'm not sure what he is doing in this picture, but I love that you can see his big ol' teeth. Those things kill me.

I love my family so much!

And excuse all these cake eating pictures..I just really love his confused/concerned face. What is this? And how do I devour it?

Mom, are you sure I should be eating this??

Oh yes - yes, I should! He would have eaten the whole thing if we left him. After this he starting putting his whole face down into it. My OCD took over and I stopped taking pictures to clean him.

Opening presents! He is a pro at this, ripping everything apart in seconds.

We are so lucky to have such great neighbors and friends! Jack was beyond spoiled.

We love you big boy! Now, stop growing up so fast. :)
